India's World Cup Practice Matches Rained Off: Can They Shine When It Matters?

India’s second practice match was scheduled against the Netherlands, but due to rain, the game couldn’t take place. Prior to that, India was supposed to play their first practice match against England. However, persistent rain forced the cancellation of that match as well. In the second practice match, rain disrupted play to the extent that even the toss couldn’t happen, leading to its abandonment.

This unfortunate weather has been detrimental to the Indian team’s preparations. These practice matches were crucial for India to assess their batsmen and bowlers, determine their form, and address any fitness concerns. Despite the setbacks, Team India will commence their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 campaign on October 8th in Chennai against Australia.

India’s World Cup Schedule:

  • 1st Match: October 8th against Australia
  • 2nd Match: October 11th against Afghanistan
  • 3rd Match: October 14th against Pakistan
  • 4th Match: October 19th against Bangladesh
  • 5th Match: October 22nd against New Zealand
  • 6th Match: October 29th against England
  • 7th Match: November 2nd against Sri Lanka
  • 8th Match: November 5th against South Africa
  • 9th Match: November 12th against the Netherlands (on Diwali)

Despite the challenges posed by the weather, India is gearing up for the World Cup, with high hopes and aspirations for a successful campaign.
