Honda Cars India has released its sales data for the month of September, and it reveals some surprising figures. The company faced a significant shift in sales figures last month, primarily due to the remarkable success of its new model, the Honda Elevate SUV. This SUV outperformed all other models, leaving competitors like the Honda Amaze and City in its dust.

In September, the Honda Elevate secured the top spot in sales with 5,685 units sold, marking a significant achievement for the company. This remarkable performance follows the 2,822 units sold in August. The Indian market sees the Honda Elevate competing against models like the Maruti Grand Vitara, Kia Seltos, and Hyundai Creta. In contrast, the Amaze sold 2,577 units, which shows a 37% YoY growth compared to September 2022. Meanwhile, the City sold 1,599 units.

Honda Elevate’s Pricing and Engine

The Honda Elevate starts at an introductory ex-showroom price of ₹11 lakhs, with top variants reaching up to ₹16 lakhs. The Elevate offers four different variants: SV, V, VX, and ZX, with the high-end model equipped with features like a 10.25-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system, ADAS-based driver-assist systems, an 8-speaker audio system, six airbags, and Honda Sensing Suite safety technology.

The Elevate comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder VTEC petrol engine generating 121 PS of power and 145 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT automatic unit. The Elevate provides an impressive mileage of around 16-17 km/l.

Features According to Variants

The base SV variant includes features like dual front airbags, 16-inch steel wheels, LED projector headlights, LED taillights, push-button start/stop, automatic air conditioning, and beige fabric upholstery. The V variant goes a step further with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, in-car connected technology, four speakers, a multifunctional steering wheel, and a reverse parking camera. The VX variant enhances these features with premium options such as a semi-digital instrument console, 17-inch alloy wheels, electrically foldable ORVMs, and a lane watch camera.

The top-of-the-line ZX variant comes with dual-tone exterior shades. Honda Elevate offers a choice of 10 colors, including golden brown, obsidian blue, lunar silver, and meteorite gray in single-tone options. Radiant red, phoenix orange (for the ZX variant), and platinum white are available in dual-tone combinations, with a black roof.

This shift in Honda’s sales, largely due to the success of the Honda Elevate, illustrates the dynamic nature of the Indian automobile market and the impact of new and innovative models.
