In Delhi, Mumbai, and Kolkata, there hasn’t been any noticeable alteration in petrol and diesel prices. Chennai, on the other hand, has seen a minimal increase of 0.32 paise per liter in fuel prices.
As for the current prices of petrol and diesel in different Indian cities, here are the details:
- In Uttar Pradesh, petrol is available at Rs 96.48 per liter, with a reduction of 0.12 paise compared to the previous day.
- In Madhya Pradesh, petrol is priced at Rs 109.70 per liter, while in Maharashtra, it’s Rs 106.64. In Gujarat, petrol costs Rs 96.42 per liter, and in Chhattisgarh, it’s Rs 103.08 per liter.
- In India, fuel costs are reexamined each day at 6 AM. Prior to June 2017, price revisions occurred every 15 days.

The petrol and diesel prices in four major metropolitan areas are as follows:
- In Delhi, petrol is Rs 96.72 per liter, and diesel is Rs 89.62 per liter.
- Mumbai reports petrol at Rs 106.31 and diesel at Rs 94.27 per liter.
- Kolkata lists petrol at Rs 106.03 and diesel at Rs 92.76 per liter.
- Chennai indicates petrol at Rs 103.07 and diesel at Rs 94.66 per liter.

- In Noida, petrol is available for Rs 97, while diesel is priced at Rs 89.76 per liter.
- In Ghaziabad, petrol costs Rs 96.58, and diesel is Rs 89.75 per liter.
- In Lucknow, petrol stands at Rs 96.47, and diesel is Rs 89.81 per liter.
- Patna records petrol at Rs 107.24 and diesel at Rs 94.04 per liter.
- Port Blair lists petrol at Rs 84.10 and diesel at Rs 79.74 per liter.
Every morning at 6 AM, new rates are issued, and these prices include excise duty, dealer commissions, VAT, and other components that result in fuel being nearly double the cost of the crude price. This is why petrol and diesel appear expensive to consumers.
